I was born in the Conwy Valley, in the stunningly beautiful Eryri/Snowdonia National Park, where my family still farm some of Wales’ highest and remotest land. As a child, I was very visually aware of the beauty around me and I spent much of my spare time walking, climbing and drawing my environment.
My great love for Eryri/Snowdonia has always had a huge influence on my work, but I now spend a great deal of my time in West Wales, which I love. I find nothing more inspiring than walking these rugged dramatic cliffs. In my paintings, I try to capture the emotions that I feel watching the ever-changing light on the sea and rocks, and the breathtaking scenery around me.
I studied Fine Art at Norwich School of Art and Cardiff College of Art during the 1970s, and have been showing my work extensively, both in Wales and England, for many years.
