Alexa Steinhardt

Alexa studied as a Fine Gold Smith in Munich, and has worked at her atelier in Lower Bavaria for over forty years. Born near Tegern See in Upper Bavraia, her unique and sought after jewellery collection can be found in the premier boutiques in Munich. She works together with Zurich Rietberg Museum for themed exhibitions, and produces stylised collections in particular Classical, Japanese and Mediterranean jewellery based on archaeological evidence of artefacts and privately owned authentic designs.
The materials she uses with gold and silver, are individually selected for each piece, and no two designs are the same. Alexa particularly likes using organic materials for example shells and sweet water pearls, as well as molluscs and fossils, carefully combined with solid or plated gold. In addition to the similarities with Greek classical jewellery, her style has been greatly influenced by Indian craftsman, and mirrors many characteristics and traits from Rajasthan.
